BeatSession 09|19|11

Original Sample:

Will You Love Me Tomorrow (As You Do Today) by Eramus Hall

This week’s sample was picked by Kritikul, one of the O.G. members from the myspace days of WBS. He correctly guessed the country of origin of last week’s sample. His prize – he was tasked with picking this week’s sample — and he did not disappoint. He picked a gem from an obscure funk/soul group (yes, it’s a group) called Eramus Hall. This amazing song is from their Debut album that was released in 1980. The track actually sounds like late 70s funk — that’s probably because it was actually recorded in 1978, but their label sat on the album for a couple years. They released the album, but only a minimal amount of vinyl were actually pressed. The album was so rare, in fact, that many soul/funk enthusiasts doubted its existence. Big shout out to Kritikul for an amazing selection this week. Amazing week fellas! On to the next…

Quick Updates:
Re:Flection, Re:Birth Vol. 1 | Debut LP of WBS’s very own thadizzie1
SPOTTED: CHRiZO (Producer) ROUND 2 | Earlier this year, Chrizo tweeted that he would participate in every BeatSession this year. You might be wondering where he’s been. THR3DWN clothing brand managed to catch up with Chrizo. Peep the interview here. Between opening up his new business/studio (ILLUSTRIOUS LABS) and his external HD crashing, he managed to find time to make beats for each of the 10 sessions he missed. He’s a man of his word. I’m looking forward to that zip file.
