The Original Sample:
A little funk, soul, and some jazz — what’s not to like about this week’s original artist? Pleasure is actually a merger of two Portland, OR bands that formed back in 1972: Franchise and the Soul Masters. This week’s sample comes from their 1977 album titled Joyous. It’s a dope album and I actually had trouble picking between three different tracks from the album. I believe this is the first time we’ve sampled this group on WBS and it will likely not be the last.
Not much time to do the write-up this week. I still have to pack for the San Fran trip and have to wake up at 4am… ugh. But at least tomorrow’s my last day of work. Oh, also big shout out to thadizzie1 for hooking us up with some dope spots to hit up while we visit the west coast. We’ll definitely hit you up when we touch ground in San Fran. Looking forward to this. And REALLY looking forward to this.
